Our Department

Central City Fire Department is a highly trained professional group of individuals that join together to make a top-rated fire department protecting our community.

As Muhlenberg County’s Station 2, Central City Fire Department strives to fulfill all the needs required by federal government laws set in by OSHA and the NFPA, state laws and statutes set in by the Commonwealth of Kentucky and KCTCS, and the local community. With countless hours of training and experience, these firefighters put it all on the line – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Station 2 is comprised of 7 full-time paid firefighters and approximately 30 volunteers.

Central City Fire Department covers an area roughly 15 square miles and one of eight fire departments in Muhlenberg County. In 2019 our department responded to over 1400 calls; 1100 of calls were Emergency Medical.

Central City Fire Department works closely with our local schools attending career fairs, safety days and lunch with a Fireman. In addition to children we are passionate about building relationships with our seniors by visiting nursing and assisted living homes. We believe building relationships with our community is significant when providing care for individuals and their families.

We welcome you to visit our station any time.
